Tasks

Sales Management

  • Actively drives sales and pre-sales in order to build the business and maximise revenue in the confidential document destruction space
  • Actively manages customer retention, acquisition of net new business/customers and organic growth in existing customer base
  • Identifies and targets net new customers
  • Develop strong relationships with existing clients

Ensures new business generation and achievement of sales targets, by:

  • Engaging with existing and potential clients through presentations and events to increase awareness and understanding of the confidential document destruction service offering
  • Building an understanding of client needs by industry sector; in order to customise and focus the confidential document destruction service offering
  • Driving initiatives to promote confidential document destruction service offering and educating clients and the rest of the business on this offering
  • Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting customer relationships, by developing and actively participating in the organisation’s account management strategy to ensure engagement and sound relationships with clients

Sales Plans

  • Analyses data, trends and client performance, develops solid strategic sales plans, and prepares and conducts strategic pitches and sales presentations
  • Develops case studies of successful campaigns in order to share insights with customers and to serve as an evangelist at targeted events and conferences
  • Develops and executes plan to achieve sales targets and expand customer base for organisation

Sales Revenue and Targets 

  • Develops and drives the achievement of annual sales targets within the business
  • Provides input to sales targets for the business
  • Drives and reports on the sales performance of the organisation

Market Positioning

  • Effectively communicates the value proposition of products, services and solutions through proposals and presentations
  • Understands the confidential document destruction industry landscapes, trends and the business opportunities which these provide
  • Develops go to market strategy for organisation and implements marketing initiatives to achieve targets
  • Develops competitive intelligence and marketing for organisation

Operational Management

  • Ensure operational throughput as per SLA agreement for all clients and services
  • Review and evaluate operational workflows and procedures to customise and improve job processes on a continuous basis
  • Ensure optimisation of resources with respect to current workloads
  • Ensure maintenance and optimal usage of fleet vehicles, and recommends additions or replacement of vehicles
  • Monitor and ensure that all vehicles conform to corporate identity guidelines
  • Manage fast and effective collection and destruction of clients’ documents and records
  • Ensure that client requests are dealt with quickly and effectively in line with service expectations, and that all client queries are resolved satisfactorily
  • Manage client concerns relating to service delivery and ensure resolution thereof
  • Manage operational productivity

Financial and Cost Management

  • Focus on maximizing revenue and minimizing costs in order to drive profits
  • Ensure that all financial reports are submitted on time and are accurate and in keeping with the standards set out by the company
  • Ensure that all purchasing decisions are taken and negotiated in accordance with the objectives of the company
  • Compile and manage the organisation’s budget in line with budgetary guidelines in collaboration with the management team
  • Ensure compliance to the Authority Framework and other financial guidelines
  • Optimise resources to control and minimise costs
  • Ensures legal compliance in all company matters

Risk Management

  • Enforce the implementation of risk management policies, procedures and regulations as set forth in the operation of the business
  • Ensure compliance to all aspects of the OSH Act
  • Report ‘unique’ business risks such as new competitors, security, fire, and other

 People Management

  • Ensure that a culture of performance is nurtured within the business so as to develop effective and efficient staff
  • Ensure that staff are trained, skilled and that their expertise is optimally applied
  • Ensure appropriate development of key skills for purposes of business sustainability and succession planning
  • Oversee the recruitment of talented, well-experienced staff whilst remaining focused on transformation at all levels as in accordance with business and EE plans

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Has overall responsibility for a staff complement of 75 – 80

  • Fully computer literate
  • Successful track record managing staff
  • Excellent communication skills

Qualifications

  • Relevant business degree
  • 8-10 years’ experience in the service industry of which 5 years should be in managerial capacity
